Its international all-points air hub, Worldport, is based at Louisville International Airport. The location was chosen in 1980 because it is three hours flying distance from the majority of the continental United States. In addition, Louisville has relatively mild weather and is at the westernmost point of the Eastern time zone. In August 2005 the airline ordered 8 Boeing 747-400s to increase capacity on its major trunk routes to Europe, Asia and North America.
