Transport Flying Squadron 44 "Arthur Pieck" (TG-44) was a Air Force / Air Defense association of the National People's Army. The priority task of the squadron was passenger transportation for the political leadership of the German Democratic Republic. In 1989, two Tu-154M aircraft were delivered to the GDR Air Forces and were based in Neuhardenberg. Both aircraft were painted in an Interflug livery, which was national airline of East Germany from 1963 to 1990.
