Delta Air Lines, Inc. is a major airline in the United States headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, operating nine hubs, with Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport being its largest in terms of total passengers and number of departures. Delta is a founding member of the SkyTeam airline alliance which helps to extend its global network. It is the second-oldest operating commercial airline in the U.S., having begun passenger operations after United. Delta Air Lines operated the Boeing 747 from 1970, becoming one of the first operators of this wide-body aircraft. The fleet included 747-100 and 747-400 variants. The final flight took place in 2017, concluding the "Queen of the Skies" era at the airline.
