Royal Jordanian Airlines, the national flag carrier of Jordan, is headquartered in the capital city of Amman and provides scheduled international services, operating from its hub at Queen Alia International Airport. Since 2007, it has been a proud member of the Oneworld airline alliance. Founded as Alia Royal Jordanian Airlines, on December 9, 1963, Royal Jordanian commenced operations following a royal decree by the late King Hussein. The airline was named Alia in honor of King Hussein's eldest child, Princess Alia bint Al Hussein of Jordan. Royal Jordanian's fleet includes aircraft from the A320 family, the long-haul Boeing 787, and the Embraer E-Jet family. The latest addition to its fleet, the Embraer E 195-E2, joined the airline in December 2023.
