Adria Airways was Slovenia's flag carrier operating scheduled and charter flights to Europe. Founded in March 1961 as Adria Aviopromet, it later became known as Inex-Adria Airways before finally adopting the name Adria Airways. The airline joined the Star Alliance in 2004 and had codeshare agreements with several major airlines, including Aeroflot, Air India, Air Serbia, Austrian Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, Swiss International Air Lines, and Turkish Airlines. Adria Airways' main hub was Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport, and it also operated flights from Pristina and Tirana. Adria Airways ceased operations on September 30, 2019. In recent years, the airline has operated Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft, as well as Bombardier CRJ series jets.
